Shelly Stewart-Author

Shelly Ann Stewart is a christian who writes children’s literature that helps parents, grandparents, caregivers, daycare workers, and teachers find faith-based and family friendly books to share with their little ones.

She currently has four books published. Angie & Bear Pray For A Puppy, Hugs For Grandma, Angie et Bear: prient pour un chiot, and Angie y Osito: oran por un cachorro.

She currently has several books in the line-up awaiting illustrations and/or editing/revision. She is working towards being a well-known children’s author.

Shelly has been married to her best friend for over thirty years and is a homeschooling mom who does not use workbooks. (not that she hasn’t tried them)

She has been writing since her early twenties. Though, even as a young child and teen she knew she wanted to be a writer. Her first writing foray was a story that copied the formula of one of her favourite stories as a child.

Shelly finished a writing course through a correspondence course offered by The Institute of Children’s Literature and learned a lot from her instructors about writing techniques.

Later in life she joined a writer’s group called the Ninja Writers. This writing group offeres writing classes, workshops, and critiquing groups. She has learned much from her time with them and is still a lifetime guild member.

Shelly is always striving to improve her writing by studing books about plotting and writing techniques. And she has recently begun working on improving her book marketing skills.

Shelly is an avid coffee drinker who didn’t start drinking coffee until she was in her late thirties. You might find her having some chocolate with that coffee while she is reading or more often these days listening to a book. Or even while watching Youtube videos about book marketing. Her favourite hobby is puzzling. She loves them all; word and jigsaw puzzles. She’s better at the latter, but uses the former to teach herself things she may not have known already.
